Growing up in a middle class single parent household, Alyshia quickly inherited the exposure to hard work, perseverance, and determination. As a teenager, she watched her mother transition from a renter to a homeowner, and fell in love with the joy of having a place to call “your home.”
Alyshia is a Roanoke native, and possesses a strong customer service oriented background, stemming from the banking and health insurance industry. Her organization, Making Lupus Look Good, originated out of her life changing diagnosis with an autoimmune illness at a young age. Despite her adversities, Alyshia has attained many achievements due to her philanthropic ventures, such as the C.C. Williams Community Service Award along with the “You Are A Star In The Star City Award” from Mayor Sherman Lea. Alyshia has been featured in Carilion Living Magazine and has been a keynote speaker for medical schools such as the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop Leader, a Team of Advisors Member for the world’s largest personalized healthcare network PatientsLikeMe, and a Virtual Advisory Board Member for the All Of Us Research Program with the National Institutes Of Health.
Alyshia’s experiences have given her a deep understanding of the diverse needs of families in the community. She has created many valuable personal and professional relationships within the Roanoke Valley, and is known for her determination and professionalism. Each step of her journey has empowered her to be wholeheartedly compassionate and understanding to each of her clients' individual needs. Just as Alyshia is passionate about advocating for people with chronic illnesses, she is equally as passionate about advocating on behalf of her clients' real estate needs, and doing whatever is necessary to protect their best interest. Keeping her career in line with her life’s mission to help others, she donates a portion of each commission to organizations for autoimmune diseases.
