2015 Nest Annual Report – Asheville

Happy 2016 Asheville! Each year as we prepare for the spring market, we first take a look back at the year that was in our local real estate market. We are proud to present the 2015 edition of the Nest Realty Annual Report – Asheville. We know that you’re often inundated with real estate market data that can be difficult to decipher. Our goal at Nest is to provide you with local, relevant, easy-to-understand data to empower you to confidently make informed decisions when the time arrives.

As we’ve seen over the past five years, the Asheville area real estate market continues to surge. For the fifth straight year, our market saw positive growth in total sales. Downtown Asheville was the only geographic segment of Buncombe County to see a year-over-year decline in total sales. Median sales prices rose significantly, marking the first time in the past five years that yearly median prices have risen above $200,000. Limited inventory coupled with strong buyer demand is the primary reason we are experiencing rising prices. Overall, our market had yet another strong performance this past year and market indicators remain positive. To learn more about how the Asheville market performed last year, take a look at the highlights below and read the full 2015 Nest Realty Annual Report HERE.

  • Total sales in the Asheville metro area rose approximately 10.5%
