FALL HAS ARRIVED!

Whether you’re in Virginia or North Carolina, there are multiple ways to experience the fall foliage. From beautiful hikes to scenic drives, here are some ideas from your friends at Nest Realty:

  • The Blue Ridge Parkway

Take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway through Virginia and North Carolina. Enjoy the 50 miles of beauty that the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer.

  • The Biltmore Estate

Visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, to experience the vibrant foliage while seeing George Vanderbilt’s “vacation estate.” While you’re there, be sure to stop by the Biltmore Winery.

  • Zipline Over the Blue Ridge Mountains

Navitat, of Asheville, North Carolina, offers several zip lining experiences that are sure to satisfy your sense of adventure, as well as your desire to see the fall foliage!

  • Plan a Fall Hike

If you’re in Charlottesville, take a quick drive over to Humpback Mountain and see the changing leaves from the summit.

  • Horseback Ride Through the Blue Ridge Mountains

Consider taking a horse back ride along one of these Asheville riding trails!

  • Hot Air Balloon Ride

See the trees from up above as you enjoy a ride in a hot air balloon. Whether in the Charlottesville area, the Asheville area, or the Shenandoah Valley, a hot air balloon ride is sure to give you an amazing view of the leafage.

  • Skyline Drive

Plan a cabin getaway, explore the many trails, or simply take a drive along Skyline Drive.  It’s an ideal way to experience the fall foliage, especially during the its peak leaf time, the last two weeks of October.

  • Visit Monticello

Stop by Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home, and enjoy the scenic views and the breathtaking fall beauty.

  • Hike Carter Mountain

Hike (or drive) up to Carter Mountain Orchard for breathtaking vistas, as well as apple picking and apple cider donuts!
