Local Favorite, The Market at Bellair, Makes National List

Fill up your tank and your stomach at The Market at Bellair

Sometimes the best food can be found in the most unexpected places…famished UVA students and Charlottesville locals who have discovered The Market at Bellair would definitely agree. Found off of Ivy Road, this Gas station is famous for its delicious gourmet sandwiches. The local secret is now out, and has recently been named by Thrillist as one of America’s 13 Best Restaurants – In Gas Stations.

Forget the typical three-day-old, wrapped-in-plastic, questionable gas station sandwiches—the sandwiches at The Market are made with only the freshest, local ingredients. The breads are made locally by Breadworks and the meats are from Boar’s Head. They have a wide selection of gourmet cheeses to choose from and finish it off with crisp, fresh vegetables.  The name of each sandwich is also a tribute to the area, like the Belmont, the Crozet, and the Jefferson, pictured above.
