Meet the Agent: Rachel Hogan

In this in installment, we chat with Rachel Hogan, a Realtor® at Nest Realty New River Valley.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Blacksburg?
Rachel Hogan: I am from North Eastern Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. I moved her after college graduation for a job at a wilderness based camp and conference center.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
RH: My husband is a Class A contractor and we had the desire to invest in real estate.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
RH: My background is in recreation management and event planning! Recreation has been a great stepping stone working with people in adventure education, team building activities, communication skills, etc. And each closing is like its own event!

NR: What led you to Nest Realty?
RH: The cool marketing concepts, the caliber of agents…”service without the suit,” and the location of the office. Nest seems to be leading the industry in our area in regards to smart growth.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
RH: At Nest, I love our little Nest family….we would do anything for each other! As an Agent, I love connecting and getting to know my clients!

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
RH: No, I feel pretty well rounded, but first time home buyers are awesome!

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
RH: I love figuring out a challenge and foreseeing potential issues in the hopes of a smooth transaction!

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
RH: Attentive, empathetic, ethical, energetic, and a problem-solver.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
RH: I love to work with people who are excited about the adventures of buying and selling!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
RH: Use a local lender!

NR: What is your favorite season in the New River Valley?
RH: Fall
