Second Quarter 2014 Nest Report

 

With the second quarter of 2014 behind us, we took a look at how the market performed this past quarter. After a slow market in the first quarter of the year, the Central Virginia market place showed positive signs for both homeowners and potential buyers in the second quarter. Overall, the Charlottesville area market was more flat this past quarter compared to the volatility experienced in the previous few years which is beneficial to all parties. 2014 Q2 Highlights:

  • Total sales in the Charlottesville MSA rose 1% year-over-year
  • Total sales in Albemarle County reached a five year high
  • Inventory levels rose in almost every major geographic area
  • The median sales price was $277,300
