Nest Realty Gets Solar Energy Update

We recently visited with Sigora Solar to learn more about the possibilities of harnessing solar energy. We asked Charlottesville Nester, Greg Slater, to share what we learned during the seminar.

During our monthly meeting offsite meeting, we took advantage of an opportunity to learn more about solar energy and our homes. Bramante Homes added a 6.5 kW solar system to their Parade Entry home in Old Trail. This solar panel system was a hot topic during the parade.

Here are the key takeaways on this presentation by Sigora Solar:

  1. Purchasing a solar panel system is a net positive event. The utility savings of a solar system is greater than the cost of ownership, starting day one.
  2. Solar systems reduce utility costs and offer the opportunity to sell renewable energy credits.
  3. Solar panels can be installed on any type of roof and don’t require a southern exposure to be effective.
  4. A side from the financial benefit, the environmental benefits of the use of solar are significant.
  5. The production of the panels is guaranteed for 25 years.

As the listing agent for Bramante Homes, I dug deep into the analysis of solar energy so I would be knowledgeable on the topic. The benefits of solar were readily apparent to me and because of this, I now have a solar panel system on my home. I supplement 30% of my family’s energy consumption with solar.

If you are interested in a solar assessment, all you need is your power bill and your address. Sigora Solar can do the rest and help you understand the opportunity for your property to generate its power from the installation of solar system.
