Welcome back, South Street Brewery!

There’s a new kid in town and he goes by the name South Street Brewery. Well, perhaps calling the brewery a NEW kid isn’t entirely accurate. The original South Street Brewery opened its doors in 1998 and has recently undergone a major renovation. Today marks the grand re-opening of this warm and welcoming watering hole.

As a former South Street brewer, Taylor Smack saw the potential, and seized the opportunity to purchase the establishment this past summer. Armed with passion and experience as Blue Mountain Brewery’s Brewmaster, he began a complete overhaul of the restaurant. Tackling everything from the decor, to the food menu and beer recipes, he set out to create an entirely new experience while still honoring the accomplishments of the previous proprietors. Keeping the name and some of the classic brews, the new South Street Brewery is striving to become a local staple.

The revitalized space is open and airy with plenty of seating options. Enjoy drinks at the bar, a dinner with friends in the booths, or lounge near the fireplace for late night cocktails.

The food menu ranges from decadent cheese curds, juicy pot roast grilled-cheese, and the glorious hangover burger, to lighter fare like the crunchy asian chopped salad and the black bean and quinoa burger available with a gluten free bun. When it comes to beer, there’s 12 seasonal options on tap—ranging from the light 365 Shandy to a thick chocolate stout that packs a whopping 10.5% alcohol. And for those of us who have a hard time narrowing it down, there’s two beer flights to choose from.
