Spring has finally sprung!
Along with the flowers, festivals are beginning to pop up in our region. Take a gander at some of the seasonal fun that Fredericksburg has to offer:
Fredericksburg Wine Festival
Saturday, April 9th, 2016, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday, April 10th, 2016, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Head on down to the 7th Annual Rites of Spring Wine Festival in Fredericksburg, Virginia and get your fill of good wine and fine food from local wineries and artisanal shops! Each year, seven ownership wineries and three guest wineries offer 100 varieties of Virginia’s award winning wines for you to sample and purchase. This year, the festival also offers a beer garden. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be made to Frasier Mason Some Gave All Foundation, and will thus benefit soldiers from the local area.
As you leisurely roam and sip, enjoy samples from local food vendors, as well as wares from various artisans and crafters. Bring a chair or a blanket to spread out a picnic as you enjoy the live music. Be sure to visit their Event Brite site to buy tickets – $15 each!
Lake Anna Brewfest
Saturday, May 21st, 2016 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location: Lake Anna State Park, VA
Enjoy the beautiful shores of Lake Anna as you sip on brew samplings at the Lake Anna Brewfest. The Brewfest is designed to promote the local Lake Anna Community, its restaurants, and its businesses, and the festival will showcase four-ounce samples of craft beets from all over Virginia. By bringing together amazing local food, local Lake Anna vendors, and great music, the Lake Anna Brewfest has something for everyone!

Williamsburg Music and Wine Festival
Saturday, April 16th, 2016, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Location: Williamsburg, VA
The Williamsburg Music and Wine Festival features the wine from 8 Virginia wineries, along with live music, delicious food, and the various vendors. Best of all, all proceeds go to CDR Child Development Resources and Moose Charities, two charities dedicated to helping babies and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays. Advance tickets are $20.00, so hurry up and get ready for this hit festival!
Chincoteague Seafood Festival
Saturday, May 7th, 2016 12:00 – 4:00 pm
Location: Chincoteague, Tom’s Cove Park, VA
For just $40 per person, come on down for this all-you-can-eat seafood extravaganza! Designed to promote the seafood industry on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the annual Chincoteague Seafood Festival offers fresh, local seafood, as well as offerings and signature dishes from local restaurants. The festival focuses upon both old and new Eastern Shore favorites, such as little neck clams, fish, clams, and oysters.
Bring along your non-seafood eating friends, too: the festival will have non-seafood food available, beer for purchase, live entertainment, and an arts and crafts tent.
Spring Wine Festival and Sunset Tour

Location: Mount Vernon, VA
The Spring Wine Festival and Sunset Tour celebrates the history of wine in VA. This popular festival combines great wine with Mount Vernon at sunset – what more could one need on a Friday night?!
Highlights include:
A candlelit tour of the Mount Vernon Mansion and learn about the successes and failures of Washington’s wine endeavors.
Catch an “exclusive” glimpse of the rarely-opened basement where George Washington stored his wine.
Relax and sample wines from 16 Virginia wineries, as well as food from concessions, while you listen to live music and overlook the scenic Potomac River.
Be able to tell your friends that you met “George and Martha Washington” on the Mansion’s piazza!

Strawberry Festival at Oatlands
