FauquierCounty

Fauquier County, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is steeped in Civil War history. The area is known for being rich with equestrian tradition and wineries. Fauquier County is considered the gateway to Northern Virginia and Washington, DC for those living off the US 29, US 15, and I-66 corridor.

Key Features

Horse Country: While Fauquier County hosts some of the most popular horse shows, races, and polo matches in the Commonwealth. It also has some of the best equestrian training centers in the country. Many of the pristine parks in Fauquier have bridle trails.

Wine Country: Fauquier is home to more than 20 wineries and vineyards, each of them having their own unique flavor. There’s even the Fauquier wine trail where folks can taste these award winning wines while taking a tour of the rolling hills and historic sites.

Convenient for Commuters

While it’s the heart of horse and wine country, Fauquier offers several options to the D.C. commuter. It’s only 45 minutes from D.C., but we all know that never happens during rush hour. But the county has built several park and ride parking lots throughout the area which can make the daily drive to work less stressful when you carpool.
