Cynthia Viejo Receives 2013 Good Neighbor Award

Nest Realty’s very own Cynthia Viejo was honored by the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors as a recipient of the Good Neighbor Award for her work with the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and Green Dogs Unleashed. The Good Neighbor Award program recognizes CAAR members that invest time and energy into initiatives that make a lasting impact on the local community.

Cynthia has been a prominent advocate for animal rescue and care for the duration of her 34 years in the Charlottesville community. She invests on average four to five hours a week on projects benefitting the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA and Green Dogs Unleashed plus additional time for community fundraising events. “Cynthia epitomizes what GDU stands for, compassion toward others no matter how different. We are so grateful for all she has given of herself and the education she provides to the public,” said Erika Proctor, animal behavior specialist and director of Green Dogs Unleashed.

Most recently, Cynthia has begun using her crafting skills to support Green Dogs Unleashed by making and selling “compassion” bracelets. 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to the organization in their efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, train, and place special needs canines with special needs children and adults in the community.

We are proud of Cynthia and her commitment to giving back to the greater Charlottesville community.
