Nest Realty: We appreciate you taking the time to sit down with us Heather. Let’s start by having you tell us how you got started in real estate.

Heather Griffith: Well when I stop to think about it, there’s not much more to say than it was mostly by chance with a bit of luck involved. I didn’t really have plans to get into real estate, but that’s just how things worked out.

N.R.: It’s funny to see the directions life takes us. What was the first property you ever sold for a client?

H.G.: I remember it quite well, even today. It was an undeveloped, 5 acre tract of land. Talk about a learning curve! This sale involved so many unfamiliar elements, it kept me on my toes the whole time. I had to learn about everything from engineered septic design to soil testing. You name it, this sale had it.

N.R.: It sounds like you definitely did a lot of learning on the fly! What do you love most about being a Realtor?

H.G.: In all honesty, my clients! Over the past 8 years as a Realtor, I have worked with some really amazing people. The best part is that these people have turned out to be great friends.

N.R.: It’s great to be able to build those types of relationships with clients. The Nest team is filled with great people such as yourself. Why did you choose to join the Nest team?

H.G.: The reason I chose to join the Nest team is that Nest is always ten steps ahead of the game. They are an unbelievable resource and they do so much to help me provide the highest level of service to my clients. They have such an impact on the real estate community and the Charlottesville community as a whole.

N.R.: We’re glad to know what we do is beneficial to you all as Realtors. With technology so pervasive today, how has it changed the way you do business?

H.G.: The biggest impact technology has had on the way I do business is that it has allowed me to be more efficient. With technology, I can be more flexible and available for my clients in ways that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

N.R.: Much like technology trends, the real estate market seems to be constantly evolving. Central Virginia is a unique market, what trends should we be on the lookout for in the Central Virginia market or the real estate industry in general?

H.G.: Based on what I’ve seen in the market recently, I think we should be on the lookout for value to rise in under developed areas such as 5th Street Extended and neighborhoods such as Meadowbrook Heights, located within the City of Charlottesville. These areas have been on the rise lately and I think we will continue to see this trend.

N.R.: The last question is a fun one for you. Who would be your dream celebrity client?

H.G.: Well if I’m dreaming, I would totally say Prince Henry. Who wouldn’t want to sell a home to a prince?

Spread the love
