- View: Nothing quite beats the view when you are sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, with the cool morning air coming off the West Virginia mountains, watching the golden rays of of the rising sun glint off the rolling fields of valley.
- Room: Our favorite room is the upstairs. It has such a cozy and calming quality to the space. It just makes you feel at home.
- Tree: The large maple tree just outside the backdoor is picturesque in so many ways and a favorite part of the yard. It provides nests for the birds in the spring, wonderful shade in the summer, beautiful foilage in the fall.
- Walk: An evening stroll down to the 257 grocery store around the corner for the occassional treat is never amiss.
- Hike: Hone Quarry is only a 5 minute drive up the road and is an excellent place to hike and enjoy the natural beauty and wonders of the George Washington National Forest.
- Breakfast: In the town of Dayton there is a little restaurant on Main Street called the Thomas House. If you are a sausage and gravy fan, this will certainly be your new favorite spot for weekend brunch.
- Lunch: Just outside of the town of Dayton is little store. Sunrise Market & Deli makes the best chicken sandwhich --The Chicken Supreme! It is a must have for lunch on the way to or from town. They also offer a variety of local treats and bargain products.
- Dinner: If you're looking for a night out on the town, the Dayton Tavern offers a quaint atmosphere with delectable food. Be sure to call ahead to reserve a spot, because tables fill up quickly.
- Living Here Has Been: This was our first house and we have lovingly called it "Our Little Nest on the Branch." It is solidly built and has the character of an older home alongside the comforts of modern technology. Its nestled in a quiet community far enough away from the noise of the hustle-bustle of Harrisonburg to, but close enough to enjoy all the benefits and community that the college town has to offer. Beisdes the gorgeous sunrises, the stunning commute through rolling farmlands to and from work, we also love that most nights you can look up and see the myriad of stars in the heavens and remember how awesome life is. In addition to the sights, you could not ask for better neighbors. Everyone is very welcoming and always willing to lend a hand whenever you need one. This certainly is a one of a kind place, a bit of heaven on earth. We will miss this little Nest as we fly onto the next chapter in life.
