Seller's Scoop

  • View: The view from the deck is marvelous! We've always loved watching the sun come up over the eastern mountains. There's often fog in the valleys, and we're visited by deer and turkeys. Dinner on the deck, watching hummingbirds in the summer, is amazing.
  • Room: Outside on the deck, always. But also in front of the fireplace in the high-ceilinged great room, still with outdoor views through the sliding doors. And the gardens! Lavender, butterfly bushes, coneflowers, and delicious asparagus every spring.
  • Tree: There are so many trees! Pines, sweeetgum, oaks, sycamores. And one very special black cherry tree, possibly the largest in the county, that's on the Treasured Trees list.
  • Walk: This is a great walking neighborhood. Being on a dead-end road, with traffic restricted to 25 mph, EVERYONE walks and bikes along Greenridge and down the nearby dirt road (Pine Forest). If you walk to Clarks Chapel and back, you've walked 1+1/2 miles.
  • Hike: For short walks in town, check out Lake Louise. The best longer hikes are in the Pisgah Forest or along the Appalachian Trail off the Blue Ridge Highway. There are many amazing trails!
  • Breakfast: Two miles southeast and you're in "downtown" Weaverville. Take your pick on Main Street: Yellow Mug Cafe, Well-Bred Bakery, Allgood Coffee. All are wonderful! (my favorite is Yellow Mug).
  • Lunch: All of the breakfast cafes, plus Maggie B's, Soba for sushi and noodles, Twisted Laurel, Main Street Grill, Blue Mountain Pizza, Stoney Knob. Really, there's too many to mention!
  • Dinner: Go upscale with Glass Onion or Stoney Knob. Soba for sushi and noodles. For pizza, Twisted Laurel or the absolutely best pizza place ever, Blue Mountain Pizza on Main Street where they also have live music almost every night!
  • Pub/Winery: Twisted Laurel has a great pub feel. But there are also three breweries right in town: Leveller, Eluvium, and Zebulon. Or go eight miles into Asheville proper, and swing a cat to find pubs, music and craft beer.
  • Living Here Has Been: Living in Weaverville has been a marvelous experience for us. Arts, culture, music, community. One special gem is the Weaverville Community Center on Lake Louise, where you can learn swing dancing, join a yoga class, listen to music and storytellers, learn the area's history at the museum, and visit the farmers market every Wednesday afternoon.
