Northlake / Embry Hills Area

The Northlake/Embry Hills area is located in DeKalb County along I-285 to the northeast of Atlanta. This unincorporated community is home to a large amount of office space, retail options, and residential housing, all within a short commute of many cultural and recreational amenities.

Key Features

A Unique Location: This area borders Doraville, Chamblee, and Tucker, but is not considered part of any of the three cities. Multicultural dining and shopping experiences as well as access to beautiful country clubs and recreational facilities make this an excellent place to live.

Growing Strong Since the 1970s: This area boomed with the construction of the Northlake Mall in 1971, and continues to thrive today. The neighborhood has a mix of young families and retirees and benefits from affordability and a convenient location.

Mary Scott Nature Park

Mary Scott Nature Park is a small but well-kept park with a picnic area and playground. It was named for Mary Armstrong, who once lived on the land that now comprises the park. Visitors can find remnants of her old homestead at the back of the park on the way to a small creek.

Mercer University

With just under 9,000 students, Mercer University is a valuable addition to the many Atlanta-area colleges and universities. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in 12 schools, and is ranked in the top tier of national universities by U.S. News & World Report.
