Sope Creek

Six Flags

Originally opened in 1967, this 290-acre theme park has been expanding and adding rides and features ever since. With a children's section, several top-ranked roller coasters, a seven-acre water park, and many other attractions, it has something for everyone. It is located west of Atlanta outside I-285, just a short drive from most of the city.

Sweetwater Creek State Park

This 2,549-acre park that includes a 215-acre lake is as peaceful as it is expansive. Not only does it contain wooded trails that wind around textile mill ruins and open up to beautiful views of rapids, but visitors can also find yurts, campsites, picnic shelters, fishing docks, an event room, a boat ramp, playgrounds, a visitor center, a museum, and more.
