With the Nest Realty Morganton office being located downtown, you will often find some of our agents taking advantage of the downtown scene and all the things it has to offer. No matter what the activity, from shopping for the perfect gift to grabbing a cup of coffee or a glass of bubbly (or IPA because some of us love craft beer), our agents definitely have some favorites! We sat down with Laney, Leanne, and Alison to learn more:
What is your favorite place to eat in Downtown Morganton?
Laney: Currently I’m on a Food Matters sandwich bar kick.
Leanne: The Grind Cafe for breakfast or Ugly Duckling Bakery to grab a scone and a latte, Root & Vine patio for lunch, Treat for dinner.
Alison: I love Root & Vine at any given time because the chicken tacos are so good there, but I also love a burger from Uncle Eee’s and the Jamaican Curry Wrap at Limbertwig’s paired with a cup of the tomato soup, especially at lunch. And without a doubt, my favorite dish from any downtown establishment is the fried brussels at Treat!
What is your favorite place to grab a beer or a glass of wine?
Laney: Fonta Flora.
Leanne: On most Friday nights you’ll find us at Fonta grabbing drinks with a group of friends; I love a good GNO, and my sparkling rosé at The Olive!
Alison: You will typically find me at The Olive on Tuesday evenings having a glass of my regular Snoop Dogg wine while catching up with friends, but The Magnolia Room makes some great cocktails and Catawba Brewing is the perfect place to meet clients after hours, as it is right across the street!
If you’re getting a gift for someone, what local shop do you go to?
Laney: Hamilton Williams gallery or The Olive.
Leanne: Most likely it would be a few different shops. I recently put together a gift for someone and it included EVOO, balsamic vinegar, and the Tuscan herb seasoning blend from The Olive and a small piece of pottery from Hamilton Williams’s studio. When I gave a baby gift recently, I went to Adventure Bound books and picked up a couple books, including one of the classics, Pat the Bunny, to add to a basket.
Alison: I recently got a great bottle of wine for a wedding gift at Craft’d with some fun Halloween cocktail napkins. I also like to visit West Union Art Studios and Hamilton Williams because they always have some great pieces that are perfect for any gift. The Morganton General Store also has a great variety of items for gifting and Thistle & Twig is the perfect place to get something for the plant lover in your life.
