Morganton DDA Downtown Distinguished Awards
The Morganton DDA Downtown Distinguished Awards recognize, honor, and spotlight the members and businesses that are the heartbeat of Downtown Morganton. The board members of the Morganton DDA invited the public to vote for who they believed should be recognized for their excellence in Downtown Morganton. Each category—Picture Perfect, With A Cherry On Top, and Breath Of Fresh Air—recognizes one DDA member business to spotlight completely based on the number of public votes received.
On June 22, Nest Realty Morganton won the award in the “Breath Of Fresh Air” category. The Breath of Fresh Air award recognizes excellence in a DDA member business that has offered an event or program open to the public that has not been offered before, is innovative, enhances the quality of life for participants, and contributes to the vitality of our downtown community. In selecting Nest Realty Morganton as the recipient, voters also noted that we have used our social media platforms to enhance and highlight our downtown in ways that have never been done before. At Nest, we are focused and committed to bringing new and fresh ideas to our vibrant downtown.
Drink It Forward
On Friday, June 18, Nest Realty Morganton raised money for the Burke County Literacy Council at our first Drink It Forward event. We raised a total of $1,200 with the help of Catawba Brewing Morganton and the band RATED PG, who donated their time and talents. There was a huge turnout for the event. We included information about volunteer opportunities with The Literacy Council, as well as information from Adventure Bound Books on their summer programs and reading lists.
