Fall in Love with Your Home Again

Fall in Love with Your Home Again

easy tips to reignite your love for home

Spending too much time in one place can start to make even the most beloved home decor choices feel…a little tired. Here are some simple things you can do to refresh your space and fall in love with your home again!

Organize It

Got clutter? Try a little organization! Go through your closets, cabinets, and drawers and get rid of anything that doesn’t bring you happiness anymore. Clear storage bins can help you categorize objects while also being able to see exactly what you have. Consider clearing off some space on your bookshelves, tables, and counters; if you’re not using something every day, do you really need to be looking at it constantly? You’ll be surprised at how a little blank space can make your home feel more relaxing!

Art Shuffle

Artwork brings a lot of life to your walls, but is also easy to move around. Try swapping some of your wall art from room to room, or even just hang it in a different location within the same room. If you’re feeling ambitious, you could swap some of your art into different frames. Consider changing your artwork with the seasons—warmer, cozy art for the cold months, and cooler, airy, beachy art when it’s warm.

Musical Chairs

Sometimes we take our furniture arrangement for granted. If you need a change, try moving some chairs and couches around! Perhaps you’ll find a new favorite layout using the furniture you already have. Research room layout plans on Pinterest for inspiration, and remember, you can always put it back how you had it if it doesn’t feel *just right* to you.

Shed Some Light

Let there be lamps! Rearranging, adding, or removing light sources in a room can make a dramatic difference and instantly change your mood. You can turn that shadowy corner into a beacon of light, or you can eschew overhead glare for soft lighting and a dusky effect. Curtains can be added or removed from windows to edit your natural light as well.

Color Me Fresh

If you’re up for a more time-consuming and labor-intensive project, consider new paint in the rooms where you spend the most time. Don’t be afraid to cover up dull beige with bright, bold colors! The best thing about paint is that you can always cover it with a new shade if you grow tired of it, so the only limit is your imagination.

These projects don’t take too much time, especially if you do a little bit each day. But the impact they have can be life-changing! Don’t let cabin fever get the best of you—put on some pump up music, get refreshing, and fall in love with your home again!

Spread the love
