Interior designer Jeanette Andamasaris gives us a glimpse inside her updated Charlottesville apartment.
Interior Designer Jeanette Andamasaris transformed a blank canvas into a sophisticated and intriguing oasis that sits above the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia. Light streams in through the oversized arched windows and illuminates the entire expanse of the open floor plan. Andamasaris’ furniture arrangement results in a living area that beckons for cocktails and intimate soirées.
The three porthole mirrors echo the three windows that overlook the Downtown Mall.
The space feels thoughtful and robust without being chaotic or cluttered. Varying styles work in harmony under the strict color palette of black, neutrals, and bursts of moss green. The well-curated, eclectic mix of objects and curiosities hint at her time spent living in South Africa.
Andamasaris’ design aesthetic is as layered as she is—a bit vintage vixen, a dash rock and roll, and one hundred percent Greek goddess. Think Outer Banks surfer chick meets marine biology, meets world traveler. Her residential and commercial design clients are drawn to her multi-faceted and well-rounded point of view.
Andamasaris’ personality is revealed in the little things; family portraits mingle with images of Hollywood royalty.
Her signature color palette of black and white may come from her life-long love affair with Hollywood films of yesteryear. “Creating black and white spaces is as close to living within a black and white film as I’ll get,” she joking explains.
Her least favorite colors? Mauve, yellow, and a certain shade of desolate brown. Her favorite colors? “Black, black, and black!”
