Before COVID-19 hit America, I sat at Crucible Coffee in Staunton with Sarah Knicely and a team of Nesters to learn more about Sarah’s interior design studio, Dogwood Design. Dogwood Design is a full service design firm that is focused on the individual client in each project, helping bring to life their ideas and visions in a way that gives it back to them just as they imagined.
Like Nest Realty’s, Sarah’s drive is fueled by her mission to delight her clients, and that was evident in our conversations.
I asked Sarah, “What do you love most about working in this community?” To Sarah, it’s all about the relationships.
She explained, “I love the relationships that I’m able to form, whether it’s with my outstanding clients, talented craftsmen, or vendor partners that I couldn’t do my job without…. Getting to know people, and the opportunity to collaborate with folks, is really what makes this the most fun. And of course, a good before and after!!”
Sarah’s ability to envision spaces is inspiring, and the finished product is a harmonious blend of modern and natural. Wanting to know more about Sarah’s approach to design, I asked, “What is your favorite interior design style?”
She replied, “I tend towards modern, clean lines but with hints of rustic and natural touches…I’m not sure that’s a style, but it’s something that I try to incorporate into every design I do, whether it be contemporary, farmhouse, or craftsman style!”
