Local Love: Ice Cream

July 19th is National Ice Cream Day

by the Nest Shenandoah Valley Team

If you were looking for a reason to get ice cream soon, it is our pleasure to let you know that Sunday, July 19th, is National Ice Cream Day. We asked some of our Nesters for the scoop on their favorite local ice cream flavors, and they gladly offered to help:

Kline’s lemon gingersnap is my absolute favorite!!! – Betty Aguilar

The only thing I ever order from Kline’s is the peanut butter milkshake! Any other flavor would taste like regret. Same thing for the sticky rice from Split Banana! I know what I like and I’m sticking to it! – Jenny Mitchell

Ice Cream

Once again…here’s a hand raised for Kline’s! But my favorite is a Reese’s peanut butter flurry. When I’m feeling down…I get a flurry to cheer me up. When I’m happy and need to celebrate…I get a flurry. My wife, Ginger, loooooves the lemon gingersnap. – Beverly Stermer

Kline’s lemon gingersnap in a waffle cone is worth every delicious calorie! I purposefully pick up the flavor card each season so I can mark it on my calendar! – Anne Hudlow

Kline’s Dairy Bar for the lemon gingersnap is where it’s at! It’s a rare find on the weekly special menu, but I will cross county lines to get it!! – Derik Trissel

Ice Cream

As much as I love Kline’s and the Split Banana, I still have to throw back to my childhood…chocolate/vanilla swirl cone at Wright’s Dairy-Rite. You HAVE to order it curbside, though, or it doesn’t taste quite right. – Becky Good

You can find us at Kline’s in McGaheysville. The raspberry flavor is ridiculous, as are the milkshakes, my personal favorite. – Andrea Dorman

What better way to celebrate this delicious holiday than an adventure to your favorite ice cream spot? It’s a new twist on Sundae Funday!

Spread the love
