Local Love Winter 2019 - Part 1

We love supporting neighborhood businesses and getting to know the awesome people behind them! This week, we’re sharing seven local treasures from around our Nest Realty locations:

TACO TUESDAYS

If you’re not willing to cash-in your vacation days and credit card miles to travel to Texas for tacos, despair not. Texas-style tacos can be found just off the Downtown Mall at Brazos Tacos in Charlottesville, VA. Open at 7 a.m. most days, you can get your fix for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just don’t miss out on the vegetarian menu—the “This is My Yam” is our jam.

CHIC COOKIES

Who knew cookies could be SO stylish?! The custom creations that Colleen Fitzgerald makes in her Cornelius, NC, kitchen are works of art. For the last five years, Colleen has been selling her Lake Norman Pops goodies both locally and nationally via her online etsy shop. Perfect for birthdays, showers, or even a Palm Springs-inspired pool party (pictured above), these sweet treats have a healthy dose of Southern charm.

WHAT’S OLD IS…AMAZING

Discarded wood and materials can become the showpiece of any home, they just need a little TLC. That’s where Trista Havner of Hub City Love in Jackson, TN, comes in. A little elbow grease and a touch of whimsy transform everyday items into one-of-a–kind treasures. Finished signs, t-shirts, and bags show that crafting can truly be a labor of love.

A FRESH LINEUP

A nationally recognized restaurant within the bustling Church Hill dining scene in Richmond, VA, The Roosevelt features James Beard Award nominated chef Lee Gregory and serves nouvelle American cuisine. Be sure to try the signature
cocktail—the seersucker that includes Maker’s Mark, sweet tea syrup, angostura, and a charred lemon cube.
