During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Adrienne Crowther, a Realtor with Nest Realty in Asheville, North Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Asheville?
Adrienne Crowther: I had read a book called “A Good Place to Live” in the ’90s. The writer featured several great places to live based on quality of life, affordability, and uniqueness. Asheville was one of the cities profiled. My family and I spent 12 days camping here and relocated a year later. That was in 1997.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
AC: My family always invested in real estate, so I had been around it all my life. My love of people and enthusiasm for Asheville combined into the perfect career for me.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
AC: I’ve always been involved in the arts, specifically in serving the community through my work at the Arts Council. That experience propelled me to immerse myself in the local community, thus learning so much about the area. I loved being a good ambassador in representing all that is great about Western North Carolina.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AC: I love the brand, message, and philosophy regarding authenticity. It all spoke so succinctly to my values and personality.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
AC: People! Meeting new people, working with people I know, and listening well to help them fulfill their dreams.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AC: I’ve lived in both the south and north ends of town while raising my girls. I have vast local knowledge about our wonderful communities.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
AC: Communication is paramount to relationships. You’ll find that I take my commitment to you very seriously.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
AC: Fun, smart, trustworthy, ethical, and loyal.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
AC: I love to laugh, so funny is good. Also, anyone open to possibilities and trusting me to guide them in the right direction.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AC: Work with someone who is knowledgable, trustworthy, and thorough. Remain flexible through the process.
NR: What is your favorite season in Asheville?
AC: Spring.
