In this installment, we chat with Dwight Atkinson, a Realtor with Nest Realty in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Blacksburg?
Dwight Atkinson: I have been in the NRV for 7 years relocated from Roanoke.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
DA: I have always been in medical sales, and I enjoy helping people.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
DA: Durable Medical Equipment CEO. It involved working with more than 800 insurance companies and government contracts while finding solutions for clients’ needs within insurance parameters.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
DA: Culture.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
DA: Every transaction is unique, as are my clients.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
DA: ABR, RSPS—residential and commercial.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
DA: What makes me different is my work experience as a CEO. What sets me apart is I enjoy finding solutions.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
DA: Ethical, honest, dedicated, professional, and charismatic.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
DA: Bill Gates.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
DA: Work with me 🙂

NR: What is your favorite season in Blacksburg?
DA: Spring.
