Meet the Agent: John Boron

During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with John Boron, a Broker at Nest Realty Wilmington.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Wilmington?
John Boron: I’m from Canton Ohio and moved to Wilmington in 2003 to live the beach life!

NR: How did you get into real estate?
JB: I have a passion for helping others, and what’s bigger than helping someone find a new home?

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
JB: Landscaping and construction. My construction knowledge is an asset to my clients, while we’re previewing homes, and during negotiations.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
JB: My mentor made the move to Nest, and after learning more about the customer-first approach at Nest, I decided to join as well.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
JB: The smiles it brings to buyers and sellers when closing on their homes.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
JB: I feel my construction background assists in the negotiations of a property. I don’t mind getting under a house or getting into tight spaces to take a better look at possible issues with the home before making or taking an offer. This can help save money for buyers, and make sellers aware of problems they may have been unaware of with their home.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
JB: Considerate, adaptable, diligent, persistent, and resilient.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
JB: Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Buying a home will be much less of a daunting task if you are educated in the process and you hire the right real estate agent. There’s no such thing as a dumb question!

NR: What is your favorite season in Wilmington?
JB: Autumn! The weather is just right, the ocean water is still a tolerable temperature, and there’s plenty of parking!

NR: Who would be your dream client?
JB: Me! Ha. I know what I want, and would be able to eliminate all of the uncomfortable situations real estate agents can be confronted with.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
JB: Negotiations. I enjoy diligently researching comparable properties so I can provide an educated reason as to how I came up with a home’s approximate value. This in turn provides piece of mind when making an offer so a buyer isn’t paying too much, and assists in getting the most for the seller. I’m always looking for a win-win for both parties.
