Meet the Agent: Kendra Golba

During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this in installment, we chat with Kendra Golba, a Broker at Nest Realty Asheville.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Asheville?
Kendra Golba: I was born and raised in Northern Colorado and moved to Asheville a year and a half ago for a job opportunity for my boyfriend. We have been loving the area so far!

NR: How did you get into real estate?
KG: My dad has been a Broker for 20+ years, so I guess you could say it is in my blood. I started assisting him at 14-years-old, going to open houses with him and designing flyers. That eventually transitioned into listing input into the MLS and attending listing appointments, etc. I have worked in a couple of real estate offices as well as the MLS in Northern Colorado. It has kind of been an inevitable fate!

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KG: I have worked in real estate for 10 years. Outside of real estate, I have worked in the service industry. The interactions in customer service and the exposure to differing personalities and situations have helped me in dealing with varying scenarios while increasing patience, experience and a hard work ethic.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KG: Nest Realty has marketing that is fresh, crisp, and unlike any other that I have seen. They take pride in their branding as well as their customer service. The thought that the client comes first and the importance of maintaining a good client relationship is one of the biggest things that drew me to this brokerage. I knew that this would be a company I would be proud to represent.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
KG: As a new agent, I am most looking forward to being a sounding board and an advocate for my clients. Getting through real estate transactions can be tricky, but so rewarding when the transaction is complete. It is refreshing to be a witness and a part of the process.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
KG: I have extensive experience in the industry including residential resales as well as new construction. I believe that I can offer a range of insight and expertise.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
KG: Though I am newly licensed, I believe that my pre-licensing experience has been a major benefit in the development of my career as a broker. I have a strong desire to succeed at everything I put my hands to. This outlook coupled with the eagerness of having satisfactory transactions helps me to get things done in a timely manner.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
KG: Driven, Communicative, Warmhearted, Conscientious, and Trustworthy.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
KG: I honestly am not sure what would constitute as a dream client for me. Every situation presents it’s own learning experience and I truly appreciate that diversity. Any client that I can learn something new from is good with me!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KG: Use your voice! Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and lots of them. The process can be very intimidating when you are not familiar and you must remember that it is for and about YOU. It is all about your wants and needs and you deserve to be well informed throughout the process.

NR: What is your favorite season in Asheville?
KG: Fall! Fall has always been my favorite. Where I’m from in Colorado, the fall season doesn’t last long. In Asheville it lasts much longer, and I just can’t get enough of the crisp air and stunning leaves changing. My favorite thing to do is drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway to see all of the colors.
