In this installment, we chat with Randy Walther, a REALTOR® at Nest Realty Fredericksburg.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Fredericksburg?
Randy Walther: I grew up in Texas and met my wife in graduate school. She wasn’t enthralled with Texas. She had a proposition for me—if she could live where she wanted to live, I could do what I wanted to do. So we moved to Fredericksburg, VA, and opened a bicycle shop.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
RW: I realized if I could help people enjoy their leisure time dreams I could help people with their housing dreams.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
RW: I was in the bicycle business for thirty years. We are small business owners, and I have always worked for myself. Bicycles helped me understand the value of community.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
RW: The philosophy. The community. The agents. The brokerage.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
RW: The opportunity to help people, and share in a life experience.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
RW: I love to show clients the Fredericksburg area.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
RW: I want to know how I fit with my clients instead of how they fit with me.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
RW: Professional, personal, positive…pretty(?)…popular(?). 🙂
NR: Who would be your dream client?
RW: George Harrison.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
RW: Shop for your Realtor like you would shop for a home. This could be a life-long connection.
NR: What is your favorite season in Fredericksburg?
RW: Fall.
