We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Laney Greene, a Broker with Nest Realty in Morganton, North Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Morganton?
Laney Greene: I moved to Morganton shortly after college with my childhood best friend for a new adventure. Fast forward three years, and I am still here and loving it—I met my boyfriend, I worked at a great bar, and now I am a Realtor!
LG: I began in the hospitality industry and realized I still really wanted to interact with people daily, but not in the same capacity. My dad was a Realtor for most of my life, so that definitely gave me a little inspiration as well.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
LG: I was a restaurant manager at a country club. This meant having to know (almost all) of the 500 members’ names, as well as giving above and beyond service. This has prepared me for real estate because bottom-line: I want my clients to be happy. That will always be my first priority.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
LG: I knew Alison, who was doing the marketing, and contacted her. Nest has a great look and feel that is really on-brand with who I want to be in the real estate world. It stands out from other brokerages in town.
LG: I enjoy the spontaneity. This job keeps you on your toes. Every client is different and so are the transactions. There is always something new to learn with each deal.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
LG: I am great at throwing parties—I can give them all of the advice for a housewarming get-together!
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
LG: I think my attitude and persistence sets me apart. I am not willing to just “give up” if something does not work out in my favor. I am always positive and believe everything happens for a reason.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
LG: Adaptable, compassionate, reliable, sensible, and bright.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
LG: Stanley Hudson, from The Office.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
LG: Always follow your intuition and do what feels right! You will know.
NR: What is your favorite season in Morganton?
