During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Alesha Oppatt, an agent with Nest Realty in Greenville, South Carolina.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Greenville?
Alesha Oppatt: I am a mother of three girls and a grandmother to two. My husband and I moved our girls to the Greenville area 10 years ago from Upstate New York.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
AO: Moving to a new state, I decided to take leap of faith and start a new career and do something I love.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
AO: I have done many things, but what I am most proud of was being mom and juggling all that is involved with that.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AO: When I was presented with the opportunity to change brokerages, it wasn’t on my radar to do so. I researched Nest and found that our values are the same. The quality and level of service Nest provides to their clients are right up there with mine. It is exciting to be part of a new brokerage in Greenville.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
AO: I love the people I meet. People start off as clients and then end up my friends. From watching first time homeowners grow their families to helping empty nesters downsize, it is all a joy for me.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AO: My clients like to call me the one stop Realtor. I love to stage homes and I am also a professional photographer. Both of these skills are used to get clients’ homes sold fast and for the best possible value. For buyers, I am able to use these skills to help them visualize themselves living in the home and seeing if it will work for their lifestyles.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
AO: I like to go over and beyond for all my clients. I provide the best possible service, but it does not just end there. I like to be a resource for my clients long after the sale. I am here to help you find a contractor, lender, or even a great vacation spot. You start off as a client and end up my friend.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?:
AO: Honest, optimistic, enthusiastic, loyal, and self confident.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
AO: Joanna Gaines would be my dream client. I would learn so much from her and she would become my best friend.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AO: Buy a home that will have good resale value in four to five years. It is an investment for you. Even if you think you will live there forever, more often than not, you will move in future.

NR: What is your favorite season in Greenville?
AO: Spring in South Carolina is so beautiful. Everything is blooming and the weather is warm, but not too hot. I love working outdoors, getting the yard ready for a beautiful summer.
