During Nest Stories’ “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Andrew Lanteri, an agent in Asheville, North Carolina.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Andrew Lanteri: I first moved to the area in 2013 to pursue a career in Hospitality Management with the Biltmore Estate. I fell in love with the beauty that surrounds WNC and decided to make this awesome place home.

Nest Realty: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
AL: In 2017 I made the decision to leave the restaurant world in pursuit of a career in real estate. With an interior designer for a mother and an architect for a father I grew up with an appreciation and passion for design. This passion coupled with the customer service skills I learned in the hospitality industry made for an easier transition in to real estate.

Nest Realty: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AL: Enhanced marketing. An entire team of specialists at our disposal to help generate and push out content. The quality of the marketing material is elevated yet approachable to target buyers of any background and in all price ranges. Additional admin support. Our agents will have more personal time to spend with you and our other clients. Culture of the office. You must be a full time real estate agent to work at Nest Realty. No part-time agents means the service offered and the reputation of the firm are both elevated within the community.

Nest Realty: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
AL: Being surrounded by others and providing a service gives me energy. I love what I do.

Nest Realty: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AL: Residential Sales with an additional focus on land acquisition and development.

Nest Realty: What are five adjectives to describe you?
AL: Team Player, Hospitable, Energetic, Diligent, Caring

Nest Realty: Who would be your dream client? (This can be funny—a famous person, or celebrity, or a general type of person.)
AL: Someone selling a renovated historic home or looking to purchase a historic home with tons of character that needs some love.

Nest Realty: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AL: Making buying decisions based off of what you want your monthly housing expenses to be, not what a lender will pre-approve you for. Always reserve a contingency for repairs/improvements that come up in the first 2 years..

Nest Realty: What’s your favorite season?
AL: Summer…I love being outdoors, baking in the sun and additional hours of daylight for prolonged fun into the early evening.
