In this installment, we chat with April Beck, an agent with Nest Realty in Greenville, South Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Greenville?
April Beck: My college sweetheart.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
AB: My dad built houses and my mom was a Realtor. I initially went to school for architecture, so it’s like I’m coming full circle to where I am supposed to be. Plus, my Broker in Charge gave me a huge nudge for about three years.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
AB: Medical representative and health coach; I spent 15 years in the medical field building relationships and bringing value to 3,000-plus doctors.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AB: Corinne Nickell is a wonderful friend of mine, whom I trust fully. She has been encouraging me to get my license for several years.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
AB: Serving my clients and seeing their excitement in such a huge area of their lives.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AB: Since I was a medical representative and covered the entire upstate for 15 years, I know the upstate in a very unique way that will help my clients choose the right spot for their families.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
AB: I never meet a stranger, and I have a gift for making others feel comfortable and heard.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
AB: Friendly, determined, achiever, self-starter, and extremely bright.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
AB: Fun, kind people.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AB: Don’t settle.
NR: What is your favorite season in Greenville?
AB: Spring, when everything feels new and bright.
