Meet the Agent: Bobbi Holland

Agent: Bobbi Holland

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Bobbi Holland, a Real Estate Broker at Nest Realty Asheville.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Asheville?
Bobbi Holland: I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I settled in Asheville, NC, in 2003 when I fell in love with the area and a little bungalow near downtown.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
BH: I began my career in real estate after being a stay at home mom for several years and re-entered the workforce to support my family.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
BH: My first career was as a television producer/director for a PBS affiliate which involved research, project management, interviewing people, writing, travel and logistics, timelines and budgets…a lot of the same skills that come into play with real estate. I get to know my clients and understand their needs, then work to either find a home, or market their home. I guide them through all the details of their transaction while providing creative and hands-on problem solving when needed. I was also a military spouse and worked for a time as an international corporate move coordinator, so I understand moving can be both stressful and fun at the same time!

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
BH: I started in real estate with the same philosophy Nest was founded on—that this business is about people, and success is measured by providing my clients with the best service and experience possible. Nest makes it easier to do that with single client agency, innovative broker tools, and exceptional marketing pieces that I used to envy. It’s simply not being done that same way anywhere else in our market.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
BH: Real estate is never dull or predictable! There is a lot of variety every day and endless opportunities to learn and grow in this profession and in service to my clients. I love being part of my clients’ stories and helping them achieve their real estate goals. The most satisfying part of what I do is the feeling that I have helped someone and made a difference.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
BH: I work with both buyers and sellers in all aspects of residential real estate. I am a NAR Green designated Realtor and supporter of the Green Built Alliance, a Military Relocation Professional, and I am a divorced mom of two children. While I genuinely enjoy working with all kinds of people, I do find it extra rewarding to work with clients who are interested in a healthier environment, veterans and their families, and other independent women.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
BH: I care! I love getting to know my clients, and being there for them every step of the way throughout a buying or selling experience, and beyond. I think your Realtor should be an extension of you and have your back—as a trusted and experienced advisor, a determined advocate, and a caring friend. What is uniquely important to you becomes important to me, and I strive to make the whole process easy and enjoyable.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
BH: Smart, kind, funny, thorough, and persistent. My kids say, “wise and awesome!” 🙂

NR: Who would be your dream client?
BH: Dream clients are the clients who appreciate me as much as I appreciate them! That being said, my daughter used to pretend Taylor Swift was calling me for help with buying a house in Asheville. That could be pretty amazing to have come true!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
BH: It’s okay. I’ve got you! 🙂

NR:What is your favorite season in Asheville?
BH: I love that we get all four seasons here in Western North Carolina. Our weather is a fantastic mix of living in the mountains and being in the South.
