Meet the Agent: Brant Suter

During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Brant Suter, a Nest Realtor in Harrisonburg, VA.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here?
Brant Suter: My hometown is Bridgewater. All of my immediate family is from the area. With the exception of living in Northern VA during my middle and high school years, the Shenandoah Valley has always been “home” to me.

NR: How did you get into real estate? 
BS: I started my real estate career in 2006. I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for nearly ten years after graduating from JMU. I always enjoyed working with my customers and desired to have a career working with clients on a more personal level.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
BS: For years, I admired Nest Realty for their brand and the marketing tools they provide their clients. The systems they have in place to connect agents with their clients during and after the sale are unmatched.

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
BS: I enjoy the opportunity to become really engaged with my clients through the transaction. I feel blessed to have made so many new friends throughout my career.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
BS: Over the past five years, I have helped many clients downsize to one-level living. It’s a big transition for people to move from a home they have loved for many years to a smaller home. I enjoy guiding them through the journey and achieve their goal of safer, easy living.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
BS: Dependable, caring, fun, approachable, relatable

NR: Who would be your dream client?
BS: My dog, Bella. She puts her full trust in me, is fairly adaptable to change, and is typically very happy with my service to meet her needs.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
BS: Cut out the noise (opinions) from others. You know what you want in your new home so stay true to yourself and your search.

NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
BS: Summer. The hotter the better. Many of my favorite memories, past and present, come from vacations to the beach and other summer trips.

Brant’s goal is for clients to feel represented, appreciated, and respected throughout their real estate transactions.
