During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Brooke Hinson, a Realtor at Nest Realty in Jackson, Tennessee.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Jackson?
Brooke Hinson: I was born in Paragould, Arkansas. I split my time growing up between Northeast Arkansas and Lexington, Tennessee, where my father has lived since I was a child. After high school I attended the University of Arkansas until meeting my husband Sam Hinson and moving permanently to Lexington, Tennessee, where we currently live and are raising our son and expecting a new baby come March!

NR: How did you get into real estate?
BH: I have been an entrepreneur for a few years. I started my first business at 22 in the fashion industry. Being creative is something very much in my bones. My husband and I began flipping a family home that really sparked my interest in real estate along with the business aspects of it.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
BH: I have owned a clothing store for three years. Starting my own business has caused me to wear many hats. I have dealt with accounting, customer service, quality in buying, management, and many other things. All of which I believe play a pivotal role in real estate, and have prepared me for this next journey.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
BH: Nest Realty stands out. They are changing the game of real estate in West Tennessee. I admire the way they advertise and the professional aesthetic. But beyond what they do in the media, what they do in their community is inspiring and motivating. There was no comparison when looking for a brokerage.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
BH: Fostering relationships with clients! When taking on a new client, I understand wanting to find a home and not just a house. Every bit of the experience should be personal, because what is more personal than your home?

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
BH: One major goal I have in being a Realtor is growing Henderson County. Although we are small, we are growing. Lexington and the Henderson County area has so much to offer for anyone looking to plant new roots and I would love to be person they turn to when starting their journey.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
BH: I like to think with the creative sides that I have I can offer you more than just a home search, I can offer you a vision. I’m a big picture person; I can walk into any fixer upper and come up with tons of new layouts and ideas for your future home!

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
BH: Ambitious, resourceful, quick-witted, creative, and diligent.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
BH: Every single Real Housewife on Bravo! I love how extreme and extravagant they are!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
BH: Don’t rush! This is YOUR home! Where your life will change and grow over the years to come! I want to make sure your first home will serve you, your goals, and your vision, and that you are fully satisfied!

NR: What is your favorite season in West Tennessee?
BH: Summer all the way! Henderson County has seven lakes! So once those temperatures start to rise, you can catch my family on Beech Lake every weekend!
