During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Dina Lopez, an agent with Nest Realty in Greenville, South Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Greenville?
Dina Lopez: I grew up in San Diego and moved to Greenville in 2004 for my husband’s job.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
DL: I started my real estate career in 2004 as an office admin. I then started my own closing coordinator business in 2006. I worked as an independent contractor for Realtors, handling their contract to close business. After many years, I decided to get my real estate license. I have been licensed since 2018 and I love helping folks find their dream homes!
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
DL: Before real estate, I worked for a gas and electric company in San Diego doing energy efficiency events in the community. That helped me prepare for a career in real estate because I learned a lot about customer service and helping people!
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
DL: I LOVE the Nest brand, the creative marketing, and my smart, inspiring Broker in Charge!
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
DL: My favorite part of being a Realtor is that I get to match people to their dream home and get to know so many wonderful people. Also, I have gotten to explore so many different parts of the Upstate that I would have never explored. We have everything from beautiful countryside to cool hang out spots!
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
DL: Greenville, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Greer, and Taylors are my specialty, but I have matched clients in lots of other parts of the Upstate as well! I work to suit my clients’ needs!
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
DL: What sets me apart from the sea of Realtors in the Upstate is that I am a closing specialist! Before becoming a licensed Realtor, I owned my own closing coordination business and helped Realtors with their closings. I have helped more than 500 people get to closing and have worked for many different Realtors and vendors, which gives me a well rounded perspective and vast experience dealing with issues that may arise!
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
DL: Hard-working, ethical, fun, tenacious, and loyal.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
DL: My dream client would be Chip Gaines!! He would have vision and make me laugh!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
DL: My advice to a first-time home buyer is to try not to get overwhelmed with all the details. That’s what I am here for! Enjoy searching for your dream home and focus on what makes you happy!
NR: What is your favorite season in Greenville?
DL: My favorite season in Greenville is summer!!! I LOVE to wear tank tops and flip flops and hang out on the lake!
