Meet the Agent: Kim Moran

Kim Moran

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Kim Moran, a Nest Realtor in Asheville, NC.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Kim Moran: I moved to North Carolina in 2006 from Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have family in the Raleigh area.

NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
KM: After 14 years in the veterinary field, I decided I wanted to finally follow my dreams and sell real estate.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KM: All of my previous careers (Software Engineer, Archaeology, small business owner and veterinary technician, hospital manager and marketing directory) prepared me by honing my people skills. Also, I’ve always been a critical thinker which helps with problem solving and negotiating.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KM: Nest offers the best in concierge real estate services. I believe helping people sell and buy homes is a life long commitment and I look forward helping people reach their property goals!

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
KM: Searching out the perfect homes or walking land to see where the best views can be found. I am also obsessed with older homes, they hold so many memories.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
KM: I am a military relocation professional and am always happy to assist our service members. My youngest is a Lieutenant in the Army.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
KM: Helper, happy, knowledgeable, responsive, friendly

NR: Who would be your dream client?
KM: Someone who is looking for an 1800’s home to restore to its former glory!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KM: Don’t go over your budget, remember your first home is a stepping stone to future homes and real estate is a great investment.

NR: What’s your favorite season?
KM: I love the fall best, the crunchy colorful leaves and chilly nights by the fire with hot chocolate!
