Meet the Agent: Kris McCoy

Kris McCoy

We think we have some pretty awesome agents here at Nest, and we think you’ll like them too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them—what makes them tick and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this in installment, we chat with Kris McCoy, a Broker at Nest Realty Asheville, and the brother half of the brother-sister team, The Kris & Angela Team.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Asheville?
Kris McCoy: I am a native of Western North Carolina. Lived in Indy for a bit, but came back to the most beautiful area in the country!

NR: How did you get into real estate?
KM: I worked as an agent administrator in 2007 and got a taste for it, then started acquiring homes for rental properties. I love the quality of life real estate has to offer.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KM: I was a cop for most of my adult life. That creates a servants heart. What better quality to have as a Broker?

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KM: The new approach they have towards agents, but more so, the above and beyond approach and treatment of clients. Thats special. I want to be a part of something special.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
KM: I have punched a time clock nearly all my life. I have missed family functions. I have missed holidays. I have missed so much. I want my life back. When I am 80 years old, I want to look back on my life, smile and not have one regret. No other career field can offer this.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
KM: I feel drawn to first time buyers. I remember how I felt buying my first home. I want to be a part of that for others.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
KM: I believe all agents share a common bond, you have to be special to be an agent, but for me…I truly do have a passion to serve others. To serve something greater than myself.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
KM: Adventurous, creative, energetic, faithful, and passionate.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
KM: Each one of them!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KM: Don’t worry, I got this.

Kris has a servants heart and a drive for entrepreneurial success. He was a full-time law enforcement officer in Western North Carolina for over a decade so he understands what it means to exceed expectations and serve others. To learn more about Kris, visit his team agent page.
