In this installment, we chat with Milly Rivas, an Agent with the Alicia Farmer Group in Shenandoah Valley, Greater Augusta.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Milly Rivas: My mom came to the United States from Puerto Rico in 1998, when I was only 15 days old!
NR: How did you get into real estate?
MR: I was a recruiter for Rosetta Stone where I learned to connect with all types or personalities and learned to “sell” the company!
NR: What led you to Nest, instead of another brokerage?
MR: I joined the Alicia Farmer Group!
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
MR: When you’re able to give clients the good news! The smile on their faces is so rewarding!
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
MR: Helping those who do not have an immigration status!
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
MR: Creative, determined, relatable, respectful, and organized.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
MR: Gabriel Iglesias!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
MR: Have lots of patience and ask all the questions necessary. Buying your first home is an emotional rollercoaster, and it always helps to be well informed. This way you know what to expect and it could save you a bunch of headaches.
NR: What’s your favorite season in the Valley?
MR: Fall! Halloween, pumpkin spice, and the leaves changing colors! Nothing gets better than that.
A former client of the group, Milly Rivas decided she would utilize her bilingual skills to help navigate and educate the Latino community through the home-buying process as well! Prior to obtaining her real estate license, Milly worked for Rosetta Stone in their HR department, which, yes, also makes her a prior coworker of Alicia’s during her time at Rosetta Stone. Milly’s experience working in the corporate world side-by-side with Alicia creates yet another winning dynamic for this team! Together, the team delivers a level of service that makes each client feel as if they are the team’s only client, from first meeting to key day, and well beyond.
