During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Sarah Spino, a Broker with Nest Realty in Lake Norman, North Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Lake Norman?
Sarah Spino: I was born and raised in Tennessee. I moved from Tennessee to Tybee Island and Asheville before arriving to the Lake Norman/Charlotte area for my husband’s job. We have fallen in love with the lake life, the access to the city, and the people! Visiting wineries, exploring new places, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and kayaking are some of our favorite things to do! Organizing is my therapy, and I can absolutely binge watch a great show! I look forward to spending many years to come in the Lake Norman/Charlotte area.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
SS: At the age of 19 I purchased my first home, followed by several other investment properties. This ignited a fire in me that I knew I would have to eventually return to. A few moves later, an opportunity to explore a new career arose, and I found myself ready to take the leap as an agent to get back into real estate. Real estate is such an exciting field that I love sharing with others!
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
SS: In previous careers, I have worked in the construction industry and most recently as an executive in the nonprofit sector. These pieces of my career have allowed me to work with people of all backgrounds and truly hone in on what is at the heart of a community and a person while relying on my business expertise to be resourceful and make the greatest impact.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
SS: Nest Realty stood out to me as a place that was truly invested in people. This was apparent with their brand, their Realtors, the community support, client services, and expertise available for future clients. The boutique experience is one that you cannot replicate easily, and I knew I needed to be a part of this structure for myself and for my clients.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
SS: I love helping place clients into their next dream and goal. It is a place where memories are made, families are started, life is celebrated, and transitions are welcomed.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
SS: As a transplant to the area myself, I love working with those who are relocating to the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, as well as clients who are looking to invest with real estate.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
SS: I believe what sets me apart from other agents is my people-focused approach. This way of doing business, combined with my professional drive, makes it a win-win for helping others.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
SS: Genuine, dedicated, ambitious, people-focused, problem-solver, trustworthy, and fun (I know this is more than five, but I couldn’t decide).
NR: Who would be your dream client?
SS: I want to work with any client who is ready to make a move and willing to make things happen!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
SS: Do your research and find a reliable and trustworthy real estate professional who can guide you through the home buying process as well as the ever-changing markets.
NR: What is your favorite season in Lake Norman?
SS: It is difficult to choose! I love summers on the lake, and taking in all that it has to offer, but I also appreciate the crisp beauty of autumn evenings by the fire with a s’more!
