Meet the Agent: Steve Ripley

agent Steve Ripley

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Steve “Rip” Ripley, an agent with Nest Realty in Greene County, Virginia.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Steve Ripley: I love the beach, I love the mountains, I love fishing, hunting, and golfing, and pretty much anything outdoors. I moved to Greene County from the Virginia Beach area to start my own business.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
SR: It was something I have wanted to do for 20 years, so I finally decided to take a leap of faith and do it!

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
SR: I previously started and owned/ran a childcare center. Dealing with children has taught me the value of handling what is most personal in my clients’ lives; very similar to them making a first time home sale or purchase.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
SR: I was very blessed that a close colleague/friend gave me the opportunity to join him at Nest.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
SR: Being able to share in the excitement and joy as clients see their dreams come to life.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
SR: Delivering a very personal form of customer service, and providing a friendly and calming atmosphere in situations that can be very stressful.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
SR: The ability to think outside the box.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
SR: Friendly, outgoing, personal, loyal, and honest.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
SR: Someone who buys a giant piece of recreational property, and then gives me permission to fish and hunt on it!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
SR: Don’t get financially in over your head, where you become house broke, and find yourself outside of your financial
comfort zone.

NR: What is your favorite season in Greene County?
SR: Summer!
