Voe and Bobby Montgomery recently brought their 20-plus years of real estate experience to Nest Realty, and we couldn’t be happier to have them on our team! In this week’s Meet the Agent Q&A, we discuss how they got started as a team and why, compared to the many places they have lived, they are thrilled to call Charlottesville their home.
Nest Realty: We know you got your start in real estate on the West Coast. How did that transition come about?
The Montgomery Team: We first became interested in the real estate market after personally experiencing the buying and selling process. Living in Carmel, California at the time, we were fortunate to have the mentorship of a very successful husband and wife real estate team that taught us both about the ins and outs of the market as well as the value of working together as a team. We feel incredibly fortunate to belong to the real estate community and have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful individuals and families.
N.R.: It’s rare to find such a great mentor, in this case mentors! What was the first property you ever sold for a client in California?
TMT: While living in Carmel, we had friends who decided to relocate to Southern California. We listed and sold their gorgeous estate which sat on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean for $2,375,000.
N.R.: Wow! Gives a whole new meaning to the saying “great views!” Why did you join the Nest team?
TMT: In addition to Nest Realty’s award-winning website and solid online presence, Nest‘s attention to client-based services goes above and beyond. Nest Realty listings have the lowest days on market ratio and sellers receive almost 2% higher of a list-to-sold price than the closest competitor. The affiliation with Cartus Relocation Network offers one more dimension to an already very comprehensive real estate company. Having extensive experience with corporate relocation clients, we are extremely excited about this relationship.
N.R.: You lived in many wonderful places over the years. From your perspective, what makes the Central Virginia market so unique?
TMT: This bustling college town located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains offers everything you could hope for in a hometown. Whether it is sporting events, the arts or continuing education opportunities, The University fosters a tight-knit community full of local pride. The energetic Downtown area, with it’s rich history and endless restaurants, is only minutes away from the gorgeous mountains and vineyards Virginia is known for. There truly is something for everyone…which is exactly why we moved here.
N.R.: Last question! What’s your favorite time of the year in C’ville? Why?
TMT: It is hard to compete with a perfect fall day in Charlottesville. The crisp air and sunny skies, the gorgeous changing leaves, the buzz of college football as students arrive back to town, the bustling vineyards and hiking trails… Fall is Charlottesville at its best.
