Meet the Agent: Tori Clark

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Tori Clark, a Realtor with Nest Realty Asheville.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Tori Clark: I grew up in Asheville. Not born, but raised, in WNC!

NR: How did you get into real estate?
TC: My best friend, Josiah, got me into real estate. At 19, I worked the front desk for a large firm in town. I then did a ton of other things, eventually got a degree in interior design and merchandising, and then circled back around to real estate at his strong recommendation a few years ago.

NR: What was your previous career, and how did that prepare you for real estate?
TC: I’ve been in customer service most of my adult life, from bartending to selling workout gear. I worked merchandising for a while after college and then did a stint as an executive assistant. That has all led to various experiences with very different types of people, and has made me more flexible.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
TC: Nest is one of the few brokerages that has positive reviews from other brokers. The branding and cozy feeling of the office were big for me.

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
TC: Leading clients through what can be a stressful experience and making it fun!

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
TC: I love working with first time home buyers. Their excitement usually matches mine! I also love selling custom homes.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
TC: Kind, laid-back, amusing, tenacious, charismatic

NR: Who would be your dream client?
TC: Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye. He’s so entertaining. I feel like it would be a blast.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
TC: Be patient (in this market), and ask a lot of questions. Your questions are all valid, most people are not pros at buying a home. That’s why you have a professional guiding you!

NR: What’s your favorite season in Asheville?
TC: Summer! I love warm weather and water sports. It’s just the best.
