Morningside Community Organizations

Morningside/Lenox Park is a quaint and prosperous community hidden between historic oaks and shady parks. The area is one of the most dynamic intown neighborhoods. Within walking distance to the Beltline, numerous parks, shopping, dining, and award winning schools, families enjoy the ease of city living with the comfort of a close-knit neighborhood.
MLPA
The Morningside Lenox Park Association (MLPA) actively works with city planners and residents to ensure the historical charm of the neighborhood is not lost to new developments. The group sponsors a Family Concert Series at Sidney Marcus Park, an annual Celebration of Summer to mark the end of the school year, and much more.
VHMPA
Formed in 1998, the Virginia-Highland Morningside Parent Association (VHMPA) has become a community fixture in Morningside. The organization currently represents over 1000 children, most under the age of 5. VHMPA organizes several playgroups, publishes a monthly newsletter, and operates an email network to facilitate information sharing among members. Social activities are another key function, with large fall and spring festivals, backyard happy hours in summer, and occasional organized volunteer activities.
