Nester Greg Slater Receives Prestigious Award from the Virginia Housing Development Authority
On September 26, 2018, Nest Broker Greg Slater was honored at the Installation & Awards Banquet at Accelerate 2018: The Virginia REALTORS® Annual Convention, which took place at The Main hotel in Norfolk, Virginia. This annual event allows Virginia’s real estate professionals to applaud the recognition of business and community success.
Each year, the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) presents the Service to Virginia Award to the Virginia REALTOR® who has made the most significant difference in promoting affordable homeownership to first‐time homebuyers during the year, or whose life work merits recognition and celebration of this issue.
This year’s VHDA Service to Virginia awardee was Nest Realty’s own Greg Slater, a member of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR).
Greg received this award in part for his unwavering commitment to make affordable home ownership a reality through the Thomas Jefferson Community Land Trust. Greg began his real estate career in 1996 and is now the Realtor representative for Bramante Homes and Southern Development Homes. He was one of the first agents in Virginia to champion solar panels as a way to reduce the carbon footprint of homeowners and to reduce ownership costs. He has worked with multiple local and national builders to run pilot programs demonstrating the efficacy of solar and the readily available funding sources.
