Q1 2018 Asheville Nest Market Report

We are excited to release the Q1 2018 Asheville Nest Market Report. The Asheville housing market in quarter one of 2018 was very telling of what our agents are experiencing out in the field with their clients. Low inventory continues to be a major challenge for our buyers, while sellers reap the benefits of fewer properties for sale.

There is no doubt that homes in Asheville and Buncombe County are a great investment, with a median sales price increase of over thirty thousand dollars from the first quarter of 2017.

Asheville MSA

  1. Median sales price rose by $30,000 to $260,000.
  2. Months of inventory rose from 6 to 7 months.
  3. Total sales dropped 9% compared to Q1 2017.

Buncombe County

  1. Inventory levels were up 1% compared to the end of Q1 2017.
  2. Total sales dropped 9% compared to Q1 2017.
  3. Average days on market remained steady at 69 days on market before being sold.
