Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival

Location: Jim Barnett Park, Winchester Medical Center, Old Town Winchester, Winchester
The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival in historic Winchester offers fun and pageantry for the whole family. The festivities include the world’s largest fire fighters’ parade, along with crafts, a carnival, and a fireworks display.

Blacksburg Chocolate Festival
Saturday, April 16th, 2016 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Location: Downtown Blacksburg, VA
Did someone say chocolate?! The festival you’ve been waiting for is almost here. Blacksburg’s Chocolate Festival is just the venue to get your chocolate fix and to enjoy some chocolate-themed activities, such as Chocolate Trivia, a Chocolate Beer and Wine Garden, Wine Tasting, and Chocolate Crafts, as well as performances by local bands and magicians.
Best of all, the purpose of the chocolate festival, presented by the Rotary Club of Blacksburg, is to support Blacksburg’s local and international needs while providing a valuable service to the community. Every year the chocolate festival helps to support local and national organizations that committed to better the world. Franklin County Moonshine Fest

Location: Downtown Rocky Mount, VA
The Franklin County Moonshine Fest was designed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of moonshine making in Franklin County with two days of family fun, outdoor concerts, local arts & culture, exhibits, and tastings in Historic Downtown Rocky Mount, Virginia.

Chug for the Jug 5k race

HoustonFest
Friday June 10, 2016 – Saturday June 11, 2016
Location: Felts Park, Galax, VA
Come and enjoy live bluegrass and old time mountain music at HoustonFest in Galax, Virginia. 45 bands are set to play at this great music event that honors Houston Kyle Caldwell, a young musician who passed away at 18 years old. The concert series celebrates the “family” that these local musicians compose. Bring chairs and blankets and get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy some bluegrass jams!
Virginia Cheese Festival
June 11th, 2016 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: The Hilton Inn Blacksburg, Blacksburg, VA
Cheese lovers rejoice! Blacksburg’s Virginia Cheese Festival includes artisan cheese tastings from the best cow, goat, and sheep cheese makers in the region. Other activities include wine and beer pairings, workshops, family activities, live music, farm animal petting area (calves, guinea hens, sheep, donkey), and regional art from local artists. Can’t get enough cheese? Participate in “Cheese Chats” and learn more about the “art of cheesemaking!
