Spring has finally sprung!

Along with the flowers, festivals are beginning to pop up in our region. Take a gander at some of the seasonal fun that Wilmington has to offer:

North Carolina Azalea Festival

Come enjoy the southern charm of the North Carolina Azalea Festival extravaganza in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Avett Brothers – April 7th, 2016: 7:00 pm – $55 admission

Snoop Dogg – April 8th, 2016: 7:00 pm – $46.50 admission

Chase Rice – April 9th, 2016: 7:00 pm – $36.50 admission

Azalea Festival Street Fair

Location: Downtown Wilmington (Water, Market and Front Streets)

Bring the entire family, as the street fair is free admission and boast more than 330 arts and crafts vendors, 40 food vendors, 4 stages with live entertainment, and a children’s area. And don’t forget the fireworks on Saturday at 9:00 pm!

Wrightsville Beach SUP Surfing Pro-Am

Saturday, April 16th – Sunday, April 17th, 2016

Location: Wrightsville Beach, VA

Calling all aquatic athletes! The Wrightsville Beach SUP Surfing Pro-Am offers a surfing, standup paddle boarding and water sports extravaganza. Presented by the Wrightsville Beach Museum, the Surfing Pro-Am is designed to support the museum and its Waterman Hall of Fame. The institution recognizes individuals for their excellence in water sports and for their contributions to the Wrightsville Beach Community. The event itself draws the world’s best professional stand-up surfers: last year, the event became the largest of its kind on the East Coast! Come see SUP professionals from Mexico, California, Florida, and Hawaii, as well as amateurs from across the United States, compete for the 2016 “All-Waterman” trophy. Visions Film Festival and Conference

An undergraduate, peer-reviewed event featuring screenings, panel discussions, keynote speaker, conferences, and more. The Visions Film Festival and Conference aims to unite a diverse community of undergraduate students through scholarly analysis, discussion panels and cutting-edge screenings. Tinted Turtle Trot

April 16th, 2016: 8:30 am

Location: Mike Chappell Park, Carolina Beach, NC

Looking to roar into spring like a lion? Consider taking part in Tinted Turtle Trot, a fun-run that’s sure to pick up your spirits just in time for the warm weather. The event features a 1-mile and 5K Fun Run. Runners and walkers will experience a color explosion at the beginning and end of the race. Colorful team names and fun costumes add to the excitement. So call up your friends, break out those running shoes, and get ready to kick spring off with a bang!
