For several years now, Stony Point Design Build has operated in Charlottesville in the capacity of both builder and developer. They have successfully redefined the landscape of Route 20 near Darden Towe Park at Riverside Village. They have been named the top sustainable residential builder in the state by Viridiant (formerly EarthCraft Virginia). They have developed and built the first cottage homes in our area where quality takes precedent over size. They have built townhouses that masterfully blend modern architecture into traditional neighborhoods. And they have used solar panels to power parking lighting in condo projects. In short, they have been in the forefront of great, sustainable, planning and residential design. They have been leaders in our community. And we have been proud to represent them.
And today, they have announced a new path, one that no longer includes residential construction. Their work as developers and designers has provided them with the opportunities to expand outside Charlottesville, and to oversee larger projects not only in our area, but throughout the Commonwealth and beyond. They have been able to acquire properties in Richmond, Charlottesville, and Cape Cod, on which they will be building multi-family, office, and experiential real estate projects. These projects are building on the great things that they started here in Charlottesville. And we couldn’t be happier for them.
Their commitment to quality both in design and in construction won’t change. And their commitment to their homeowners here in Charlottesville isn’t going away. They are still going to be building 10 more homes here in town on lots they own, and they are still going to be based here and work with many of the tradesmen they’ve met here and forged relationships with. But, the folks here in Charlottesville; they made all this possible for Stony Point CEO Chris Henry (pictured below), and all the folks of Stony Point Design Build.
