The Downtown Mall Gets a Little Brighter thanks to the Paramount Theater
The beloved Paramount Theater is restoring the historical 33-foot vertical blade sign that once illuminated the Downtown Mall. The iconic element of the façade serves as the final piece of the restoration puzzle. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the reopening of the restored theater.
Crowds gathered to watch the blade instillation which began at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2015.
Now that the blade is in place, the Grand Illumination will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 . The festive community celebration will include entertainment, a hot chocolate bar, and activities for the kiddos. The celebration begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by a special holiday screening of the film Elf. Admission to the movie is complimentary to those who have purchased a “Bring Back the Blade” button for $5.
